We take for granted that the millions of signals and signs that are in use today function reliably and without issue. Where earth leakage protection may already be in place, older systems in particular may only have a simpler setup whereby faults that do occur shut down the system temporarily and require some user intervention to sort the problem out.

The ELR30PN is the ideal solution for such applications with the configurable auto-reclosing feature it offers. Subject to a fault occurring, the ELR will trip as normal, but will then carry out several attempts automatically to restore power providing that the fault isn’t permanent.

It’s benefits are clear in that no user intervention is normally required and therefore disruption to services is greatly reduced. Only where a fault continues to re-occur and within a particular time period will the unit trip and remain tripped.
